Conyers Dill & Pearman

Conyers Dill & Pearman

We were first approached by Codan, the management services arm of Conyers Dill & Pearman, to help them with some of their communication material. This very interesting law firm is uniquely positioned to manage the legal complexities of offshore wealth and investments with respect to local jurisdictional law. While they had a strong logo, they needed to refresh their broader visual identity and then ensure that all marketing initiatives were aligned. We’ve since been involved in a diverse range of projects for them, including a yearly interactive holiday card and global calendar, print advertising, digital banner ads and corporate email signatures.

McKellar

McKellar

McKellar is Canada’s largest structured settlement company, providing professional advice to lawyers, insurance adjusters and the injured plaintiffs they serve. Riordon’s history with the company goes way back to the ’80s when founder, Frank McKellar, pioneered the concept of structured settlements. Long before the democratization of the brand through social media, the “visioneers” at McKellar chose to invest in building brand awareness and reputation – and continue to do so to maintain their edge on industry leadership. From our original mandate to create the McKellar logo (circa 1980) to current brand stewardship, Riordon has created and overseen all aspects of McKellar’s brand positioning in corporate print collateral, interactive and advertising.

Davenhill Senior Living

Davenhill Senior Living

Previously named Fellowship Towers, the central Toronto retirement residence approached us to take them through a rebrand process. We started with a comprehensive naming exercise that identified key attributes that should influence the name change, one of which was that the new name should identify their desirable location. From the well-known street Davenport, combined with the building’s scenic overlook of Rosedale Valley, “Davenhill” was born. Once landed on the name, we proceeded with tagline development, which gave us the foundation to build the rest of the brand components upon.

Donna Griffith

Donna Griffith

Donna Griffith is one of Canada’s leading lifestyle photographers, with a client portfolio that includes The New York Times, Canadian House & Home Magazine, Style at Home, LCBO, Kellogg’s, Kraft, Loblaws, Homesense and many others. Through that relationship, Donna approached our firm to help her design a new brand for her business and the rest is history. Brand requirements addressed the identity itself with a simple typographic – lowercase to reflect her approachable personality and understated style – and an asterisk representing a camera flash icon. We then built a system of modern, colourful and expressive graphic support elements that could be used to enhance her various promotional initiatives, both print and online.

Hicks Design Studio

Hicks Design Studio

An internationally recognized architectural firm, Hicks Partners decided to exclusively focus on designing distinctive private residences and masterful clubhouses – leaving the commercial side of the business. Along with a change in business focus, there was restructuring in the partnership which required a renaming, reflective of their niche positioning. Having worked together on many previous projects together including Chelster Hall, an awe-inspiring 10-acre estate on Lake Ontario they came to Riordon with “Hicks Design Studio” and the challenge to create a brand around it.

Uprooted

Uprooted

Mutual friends introduced our firm to a young woman named Sarah Sharratt. She was looking for a production company to help produce an idea she had for a television series. Riordon works with an outstanding film/production group named Echo Bay Media (known for creating the travel series “Departures” and “Descending”) and we introduced their crew to Sarah. Once the name “Uprooted” was adopted for the show, we were called in to create a brand identity and support graphics to enhance the styling and expression of the pilot. We worked closely with both Sarah and Echo Bay Media to ensure the brand reflected their established vision.
